The story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard is one of those that we would not believe fiction. In case you haven't seen it (because social networks made it very difficult for the world not to know about it) I will briefly tell you the story of this woman. Gypsy lived always convinced by her mother that she had Cancer, muscular dystrophy, think of any disease and that is what Dee Dee Blanchard convinced doctors and therefore her daughter, that she suffered. It wouldn't let her out of her wheelchair. We now know that the condition for which this horrible nightmare occurred is called Munchausen by proxy. Where the caregiver seeks attention and rewards by making the one who is supposedly under their protection sick. It would not be the first case of this that has been recorded. Yes it is the first and only case where the victim got out of the sick relationship by killing her oppressor. Her mother.
Gypsy was in prison for eight and a half years for planning this murder with her boyfriend at the time, whom she met via Facebook. He was the perpetrator of the crime and is serving a life sentence. She was released from prison the last week of 2023 and a few days later I was already in the strange situation of interviewing this girl, she is already 32 years old, but she still looks like a child.
