A few months ago, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum asked for a leave of absence from her position as head of the Government of Mexico City, with the aim of "becoming the first woman to achieve the Presidency in our country", leading the Morena party that heads the current government. Along the way, the opposition parties have been looking for their candidates, highlighting two politicians, who also raised their hands and voices. I am referring to Xóchitl Gálvez and Beatriz Paredes (who later declined in favor of Xóchitl Gálvez).
Without wishing to delve into their trajectories or ideals, their political or social groups that support them, what is certain is that, once again, the important question of whether Mexico is ready for a woman president opens up.
