At a recent get-together, the conversation came up about the opportunity to make the leap from being employees to entrepreneurs in the coming year. The explicit questions of whether it would be a good idea or when is the best time to become an entrepreneur made me think about several issues.

At this stage of my existence, I believe that there is no single answer. In my opinion, the best time is now, the sooner the better. I once heard in a business discussion that the best time for entrepreneurship is when people are at their most productive age, when they are mentally lucid, even when they are physically full; however, I believe that, if that time has already passed, the best time is now, now.

We must not lose sight of the fact that being an entrepreneur means adding value to society, solving a problem, helping to make a better world, having a cause that benefits everyone, that the purpose is not to make money at all costs, but to make money and add value to society, with a win-win vision, where money is a consequence of doing things right.

In a highly competitive world where systematization or digitalization is increasingly present, it is imperative to have an open mind and a willingness to be always learning, with the permanent commitment to add value to our products or services, innovate and thus differentiate ourselves from the competition. Something that is essential is to train ourselves permanently, not only to grow and expand the enterprise, but also to operate in crisis, in times of uncertainty. Because the more resources we accumulate, the more we will have in reserve for when challenging circumstances arise.

The success of a business depends on many factors. However, the virtues and qualities of the entrepreneur can considerably increase the chances of achieving success. We know very well that when companies achieve certification, they provide valuable differentiators in the market that help them to obtain greater recognition and positioning in their chain of suppliers and in their client portfolio, rounding off the virtuous circle that every entrepreneur longs for.

Like any discipline, trade or profession, we must be active agents of our uninterrupted training, especially if we really want to build a material legacy with our business, and a support for personal and social well-being.

In this sense, I believe that employment should be a temporary station on the road to entrepreneurship. It is important to gain experience and learn about market practices so that we can replicate the ones we consider best in our businesses.

Currently, in the entrepreneurial ecosystem there are multiple ideas and business models. Starting a new year motivates us to take stock and make adjustments to start a new stage, not only personally, but also professionally. Entrepreneurship is a transforming adventure. If someone tells you that he/she has a business idea, motivate him/her by sharing that he/she should approach experts who have already walked this path in their sector. And if you are the person who is thinking about joining the business world, dare and bet on your dreams. #Welcome2025
