In an increasingly digital and changing world, technology can be considered an ally that has allowed us to improve our quality of life in various areas: personal, educational, work, medicine and even business.

The exponential increase in data storage, transmission and processing capacity, together with the reduction in costs, marks the beginning of an era that specialists have aptly called the "age of data". For the past few decades, we have been living through a period of accelerated transformation of the economy, society and lifestyles. And these transformations are having a particularly profound impact on production.

With the gradual advances in technology - as a consequence of improved hardware, increased processing power of computer systems and the development of more complex machine learning algorithms - there is a boom in a phenomenon we hear about almost every day, which is called artificial intelligence (AI), a concept that is roughly explained as the set of software techniques that allow the creation of combinations of algorithms, complex mathematical models and patterns.

Today, we all interact with artificial intelligence: smartphones, streaming platforms, geolocation systems or social network algorithms are some examples.

In the business world, its applications are diverse and broader than we imagine. AI is used in a wide range of applications to improve efficiency, decision-making and competitiveness. And for proof, I will present examples that I have collected through reading, talking to experts and monitoring news:

  • In marketing and advertising, AI algorithms are used to analyze customer data and segment audiences, allowing advertising campaigns and promotional messages to be personalized.
  • In customer service, AI-powered chatbots are increasingly being used to provide automated responses to frequent queries, provide basic support and even perform simple transactions. This helps reduce the workload of support staff and provides quick responses to customers.
  • In the manufacturing industry, AI is applied in automation and process control systems. Some AI-equipped industrial robots can perform complex and repetitive tasks with high precision and speed, increasing efficiency and reducing errors.
  • In the field of logistics and transportation, AI algorithms are used to optimize delivery routes, manage inventories and predict product demand. This helps to reduce operating costs and improve the efficiency of logistics operations.

In recruiting and hiring activities, algorithms can analyze resumes, conduct skills assessments and virtual interviews.

With these examples I want to emphasize that AI is a powerful and indispensable tool in the business world, as it automates and optimizes processes; it provides information and analysis based on real data, sometimes even in real time, and develops innovative solutions by identifying needs and requirements of the business ecosystem.

It is not easy to understand the many technicalities inherent in AI. However, with the help of experts, let's reap the benefits of the most transformative technology of our era.
