Is it out of fashion to talk about values?
If we look at the current political scenario, it is not uncommon to find situations in which values and congruence seem to have taken a back seat.
Well, I am falling short if I only refer to the political part as if its actors had not emerged from this society that we share, politicians and civil society, religious and agnostics, good and bad, whites and browns, etc.
However, it seems pertinent to recall that ethical values and congruence are the basis of responsible and effective political action. Assuming then that political actors are, in the best of cases and more so in theory than in reality, leaders who inspire and guide, who make decisions for the good of the majorities, then it is logical to expect them to demonstrate a solid base of values and coherence in their actions.
