Last week I was talking about opportunities and challenges in logistics and transportation with businessmen (and women) in the sector.
We are talking about the strategic responsibility they have in this process of relocating supply chains to North America, known as nearshoring, which is occurring as a result of the growing trade and geopolitical tensions between the world's two main economies -China and the United States-, as well as the lessons of the pandemic. The United States, which receives 83% of our exports and 80% of our total trade, needs to be close to those who provide it with the inputs, goods and services necessary for its own production and consumption.
