Yesterday, April 1, 2025, Claudia Sheinbaum completed six months as president of the United Mexican States.

For many, Claudia Sheinbaum represented (and represents) a sigh in Mexico's history, a rebirth, a turn at the helm. For the first time, Mexico would have a woman in the presidency. A woman who would understand and address the needs of women. A woman who would not remain silent in the face of femicides, but would punish them and fight to reduce them to zero. A woman who would wear purple and green and join the March 8 march. A woman who would put a stop to the heteropatriarchy. A woman who would put the name of Mexico very high.

For those of us who did not vote for her, these six months were no disappointment. There was no deception. We knew there would be no change. We were aware that she would not change a comma of the reforms proposed by Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He disappeared the autonomous agencies, assassinated the INAI, disabled the largest transparency body in the country and crushed the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation to turn it into a circus, in which the buffoons campaign to be elected as lions.

Six months that can be summarized in the disappearance of the autonomous bodies, the Judicial Reform, the jaloneos with Donald Trump, the slapping of China to please the President of the United States, the relaunching of "Made in Mexico" and pure propaganda.

Six months of more bread with the same: more fourté less democracy. More authoritarianism, less transparency. More misogyny, less feminism. More propaganda in the morning conferences, less accountability. More demagogy, less honesty. Fewer homicides, more disappeared. More agreements with teachers' unions, less quality in education. More social support, less social welfare. More soldiers in the streets, less security. More training and extermination centers, less support and consideration for the victims' families. More cover-up of rapists and more gender violence. More cynics and less committed to causes. More propaganda, less president. More confetti, less results.
