During the U.S. presidential campaign, a 20-year-old named Vivian Jenna Wilson went public with her support for Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party.
Of course that seems unimportant, as millions of young people supported Kamala.
On a side note, I add that she wasa trans girl. Perhaps that, for many, remains irrelevant. Only that this lady is the daughter of the richest man in the world and new head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk, with whom he broke family ties since 2022.
When Vivian Jenna Wilson turned 18 years old, she changed her name, dropped her father's surname and in 2025 she exiled herself from the United States, following the reelection of Donald Trump.
In an interview with ultra-right-wing Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, Musk said his son "died murdered by the progressive mind virus (or woke virus)."
The term woke comes from the African-American vernacular of the irregular English verb wake(woke, woken) meaning "to awaken" and became a way to push for active awareness of social injustices. However, the ultra-right in the United States has distorted its meaning and uses it in a derogatory manner against the advancement of inclusive agendas.
Musk claimed that he was tricked when he was asked to sign a consent form for Vivian to start taking testosterone blockers. Will it really be that easy to trick the world's richest man? "Plus, I was told that Xavier might commit suicide," Elon said.
The suicide rate for transgender people is 3.5 times higher than the general population.
In an interview with NBC News, Vivian responded that they never cheated on her father. She also confessed that Musk was never a supportive father, that he was rarely present in her life and that when he was present he would scold her. Vivian said she had not spoken to her father in the past four years. "He doesn't know what I was like as a child because he just wasn't there. [...] And in the short time he was, I was relentlessly bullied for my femininity. He was cold. He was very quick to anger. He's uncaring and narcissistic. [...] When I was a child, my father bullied me for exhibiting feminine traits and pressured me to behave in a masculine way. [...] I was in fourth grade. We took a road trip and he would constantly yell at me viciously that my voice was too high-pitched. It was cruel."
In his interview with Peterson, Musk claimed that Vivian's gender transition was the motivation for his push into conservative politics. "I promised to destroy the mind woke virus after that, and we're making some progress." After buying Twitter, in 2022, Elon removed the app's protections for trans people.
As head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk dismantled the Diversity Directorate, thereby repealing protections for transgender people and ending diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the federal government.
Elon Musk is one of the leading promoters of transphobia in the United States.
It is more than unfortunate that the man who intends to conquer the planet Mars is unable to win his daughter's heart.
From day one of his administration, Donald Trump eliminated the rights of the transgender community: Protection in access to health care. Support for LGBTTTIQ+ youth. Programs to help youth with mental health issues and homelessness. Promotion of human rights. Combating criminalization of LGBTTTIQ+ status or behaviors. Protection of LGBTTTIQ+ refugees and asylum seekers. Recognition of gender identities. And protection against discrimination in employment.
In the 1950s, endocrinologist Charles Ihlenfeld concluded that neither gender identity nor sexual orientation is learned in childhood and cannot be changed. It is the mind that identifies us as male or female, regardless of our reproductive apparatus. In short, he said, "if you cannot change the mind of people with sex-gender discordance, it would be much easier to change the body".
It should be clarified that no sex change surgery is performed on minors anywhere in the United States. The only things provided are puberty blockers and hormonal therapies, with parental consent, to stop masculinization in MTF teenagers and feminization in FTM teenagers .
