Edmundo González Urrutia was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, secretary of the Venezuelan embassy in the United States, secretary of the Venezuelan embassy in El Salvador, Venezuelan ambassador to Algeria and Argentina and international representative of the opposition coalition Mesa de la Unidad Democrática. In March 2024, he was appointed presidential candidate of the MUD political organization (a coalition formed by liberals, social Christians, socialists and conservatives).
However, his undisputed triumph was not due to his short diplomatic career, but to the overwhelming intervention of María Corina Machado Parisca, who in 2023 was politically disqualified for 15 years by the Venezuelan Comptroller General for advocating economic freedom, democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela.
On January 9, 2025, without a bulletproof vest, María Corina Machado reappeared before a crowd, during a protest against the usurper. The repressive organ of the government was unleashed. Hooded soldiers repressed and captured dozens of opponents and reporters. Hours later, María Corina Machado was kidnapped and released two hours later. Immediately, the government denied having kidnapped the activist and published a video in which María Corina Machado qualified what had happened.
On January 10, Edmundo González Urrutia was to be proclaimed president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. But, without electoral ballots to accredit him, Nicolás Maduro was anointed president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, much to the dissatisfaction of the citizenry. "I am going forward with the hurricane and volcanic force of a people who want a homeland, who want a future, who want peace", he said in his speech.
The United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay did not recognize the victory of Nicolás Maduro.
The countries that recognized Nicolás Maduro as president-elect of Venezuela are Mexico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras, Russia, China, Equatorial Guinea, Turkey, Laos, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Qatar, Republic of Djibouti, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Serbia, Sudan, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
For Claudia Sheinbaum, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela are progressive governments. But beware, the definition is not hers, it is part of the training she received and which I will explain later. And although she did not personally attend the inauguration of the usurper, she did send Mexico's ambassador to Venezuela, Leopoldo de Gyvés, as a representative and for days she evaded the issue by alluding that Mexico respects the self-determination of peoples, without, evidently, admitting that 70 percent of the Venezuelan people voted against Maduro.
La cuatroté -a political movement that accused electoral fraud in 2006 and 2012 and demanded vote by vote, box by box- legitimized the electoral fraud of Maduro's criminal regime, a sort of Gestapo, accused before the UN and the International Criminal Court for 5,94 murders of political opponents, forced disappearances, systematic repression, extrajudicial detentions, human rights violations, summary executions and lethal torture.
Claudia Sheinbaum's government recognizes Nicolás Maduro as president for a simple reason: thanks to the support of Cuba and Venezuela for three decades, Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his "movement" became president.
For years, the opposition questioned what AMLO has been living on since he left the Federal District, and even more, how he financed his endless tours throughout the country for 12 years. It costs a lot of money to set up a stage, a big tent, a sound system and five thousand chairs in any town. Not counting staff salaries, logistics, transportation, lodging and meals.
And it is thanks to Cuba, Venezuela and the Sao Paulo Forum that Andrés Manuel López Obrador was able to dismantle the system of government we had. Since the mid-1990s -and after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union-, Havana created the Cuban Intelligence Directorate, or G2 (equivalent to the KGB), redesigned communism-socialism with a sweetened fascist method, romanticized Marxism and Leninism, altered the language with words like "progressives", and for years organized and trained Latin American politicians like Nicolás Maduro to come to power in their countries and under the pantomime of freedom burst democracy from within and destroy the rule of law.
AMLO arrived with a recipe book under his arm:
- To reach the presidency in a legitimate way.
- Saying yes to everything, even if it wasn't.
- Support gender equality and anti-racism struggles. Establish a progressive agenda that promotes free abortion, LGBT rights and personal development.
- Take advantage of the economic weakness of people who are destitute and give away money.
- Capture the army.
- Promote the theory of the relativity of values.
- Promote single thinking (focused on the ideology of the party) and totalitarianism.
- Destroy and replace national symbols.
- Intensify personality cult campaigns.
- Destroy opposition political parties.
- Reform education, focused on indoctrination in class struggle.
- Impoverish society to maintain social control.
- Control the media and social networks in a progressive manner.
- Dismantle, with constitutional reforms, everything built by previous governments.
- Seize legislative and judicial power to facilitate perpetuity in power.
