Document

Every day at 6 o'clock in the morning, the President of the Republic punctually receives the members of the security cabinet to hold their daily meeting where they report on the situation throughout the national territory; there seems to be no progress, but that is another matter and the exercise is punctually carried out.

Afterwards, he moves to the Treasury Room of the National Palace to hold his daily monologue with the representatives of the media. Once he finishes his daily reflections, the President's activities are usually over. Unless he goes on tour and participates in a "supervision" or a visit to some state, his agenda remains empty, blank; with nothing else scheduled to do but to receive the physical therapies that the military medical corps provides him and his wife, sometimes also his youngest son, generally in the afternoons.

According to the documentation obtained after the #GuacamayaLeaks hack, López Obrador's activity agendas are very short, two daily activities in most cases and the rest of the day nothing else to do, according to the Sedena logs consulted by this columnist. According to security protocols, the head of Defense must have information when a person outside the National Palace enters to see the president, and when he leaves his personal enclosure to attend a meeting. When I randomly reviewed several agendas in different months in the last 3 years, the result was surprising.

For example, I found that in the reports from April 29 to May 29, 2019, which contain 31 days of activities for López Obrador, in 18 of the 31 days, that is, 58% of the time, the only thing the President did was to meet from 6 to 7 am with the security cabinet and then his morning meeting. The other 13 days, including Saturdays and Sundays, were dedicated to supervise some work or to attend some inauguration in the interior of the Republic; nothing else.

EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THEIR AGENDAS

According to this crossing of agendas from Zeus (Code name of the President) to Argento (Code name of the Secretary of National Defense), the activities of the chief executive are limited, including, in some cases, the office of the Secretary of Defense no longer includes the morning conference as part of the activities, which makes the presidential agenda appear even more deserted.

This scarce agenda of activities by the President of the Republic since this administration took office, was observed even before he suffered the health collapse at his ranch in the month of January 2022, since in the leaked files can be seen summaries of his events from 2019 to the present and in all of them it can be seen that the only constant and daily activities of President López Obrador are his morning meetings, and then nothing.

For example, in the summary of activities of the tour to Central America from May 5 to 8, 2022, his events were reduced only to meetings with the presidents of Honduras, Salvador, Guatemala, Belize and Cuba, with no other activities.

In previous terms of office, presidents generally met with businessmen, exporters and importers, and in general had a full agenda aimed at establishing better conditions for the export of Mexican products, or other conditions that could benefit national trade.

Some voices within the administrative apparatus, with whom this columnist spoke, claim that Tabasqueño wakes up at 4 a.m., but in practice he remains inactive during his working days, thus leaving the head of Mexico's leadership asleep.

The big question is how does he find out what is happening in this country and through which channels, since if it is only prior to his daily morning conference, the possibility that the information provided to him is very limited is increased. Is this the way he makes decisions?

Starring in public events does not make a better ruler; we know that. But living under the desk and only commanding behind the screen could also be a risk?
