"The child God wrote you a stable, and the devil the oil wells". R. López Velarde.
Several generations of Mexicans grew up with the idea that Pemex, oil and homeland were different meanings of the same concept. We witnessed the administration of a wealth that, for a moment, allowed us to dream that we could be on a par with the first world, only to end up defending our currency with a canine spirit.
We were able to recover, reach investment grade and with a historic production of three million barrels of oil per day, finance part of our current expenses without losing the opportunity to subsidize gasoline, with which a good part of the oil income was converted into carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere of our Suave Homeland.
