The previous six-year term and this one compete for being the most conflictive if we are referring to Conade (National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports) and/or its head.

The biggest scandal under Alfredo Castillo's administration was that of Paola Pliego, a fencer who could not compete in the Rio Olympic Games because she tested positive in an anti-doping test. With the passage of time it was proven that it was a false positive and Pliego won a lawsuit against CONADE in 2020 for 15 million pesos.

That was the first problem "inherited" to Ana Gabriela Guevara, who took over as Director of CONADE in 2018.

At the beginning of 2019, the silver medalist in the 2004 Athens Olympics, promised to put an end to the irregularities that were present in various federations and in sport in general, but over time, it has been the same body and Guevara who have been in the eye of the hurricane.

Since then, the context of this six-year term with CONADE and Ana Gabriela Guevara has been similar.

Women at the forefront of the debate, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable dialogue. Here, diversity of thought and equitable representation across sectors are not mere ideals; they are the heart of our community.
