One of the most anticipated days for soccer fans was perhaps February 4, 2024.

Around 2:00 p.m., the announcement of the matches to be played in each of the venues that will host the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the United States would be made official.

It had been mentioned beforehand that Mexico would only have 10 games, perhaps 4 at the Azteca Stadium, 3 more in Monterrey and another 3 in Guadalajara.

As the date of truth approached, the rumors increased, 'Mexico could have up to 15 matches' for this World Cup, with the Azteca Stadium obviously holding the upper hand.

But there was a battle between the three host countries, which was finally won by the Azteca Stadium, and one of the most desirable matches to host in each World Cup is undoubtedly the opening game, perhaps not as much as the final.
