When the NBA announced that the three-point shooting contest at the 2024 All-Star Game would pit two of today's best shooters against each other, the event has been on the agenda of basketball fans and not-so-basketball lovers alike.
On Saturday, Feb. 17, two of the WNBA and NBA's most accomplished point guards and best shooters will square off in that contest. Sabrina Ionescu, player of the New York Liberty, winner of the WNBA All-Star Game three-point contest and named the 2020 AP Player of the Year, will compete with Stephen Curry, point guard of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA All-Star Game three-point contest. It is curious because Ionescu has mentioned on several occasions that her idol is, precisely, her next rival on the court.
Undoubtedly, this idea will seek to generate better numbers in the NBA All-Star Game, although the dunk and three-point contests are always the most attractive and spectacular for those who are not so fond of the sport.
