Breathe

The classic protocol for writing the letter to the Three Wise Men should include the reasons, the explanation of why you deserve the gifts, detailing how you have behaved and the effort you have made over time to be your best version. Then, you can start listing the gifts you expect and of course, you cannot forget the genuine act of asking for others as well.
If we were to transfer this childish dynamic to the expectations of the year ahead, it would surely be an exercise where many would not come out of it well and also surely, more than one would forget to be empathetic and consider the needs of others.
In the meantime, I reserve the processing of the details of merit and behavior, but I will share with you some and only some of the requests on my long list:
Reyes Magos, we already have a woman as our highest representative, and that fact in itself is a reason to celebrate the change in the narrative of the role of women in all areas. We have fought from different forums for the conditions of equity to improve, but we have not yet won the battle. Would it be too much to ask to really redefine the role of women? Feasible working conditions and legal certainty in all contexts where they are still violated.
Reyes Magos, I cannot deal with the academic desertion of students who do not have the resources to continue studying. They need quality education at all levels to enable them to face global competitiveness. A solid educational model is required in terms of content, technological resources, inclusion and sustainability as implementation axes. For this to happen, even if it is possible, teachers must have a preparation and salaries that allow them to reorient the way in which they transmit knowledge to their students.
Reyes Magos, while the opening towards nearshoring (relocation of companies to cheaper areas) will continue to contribute to economic growth, I also ask you to keep in mind that this benefit is not for everyone. Professionals seeking middle management and first level positions do not have the same opportunities to compete for a local position because these roles are already mostly assigned to regional talent. In this environment, micro-entrepreneurs also do not benefit when companies arrive with an infrastructure that easily absorbs business models that, without financial support, training and legal security, are impossible for them to sustain. Can you help with this?
The middle class is experiencing an uncertainty in the labor market and in growth opportunities; it is perceived as being forgotten. They are the ones who are experiencing the consequences of the contraction of jobs, the misalignment of profiles and working conditions that are far from allowing fair competition for all.
Reyes Magos, that the implementation of the tax for online platforms is a measure to efficiently regulate digital commerce and also smart shopping awareness on the part of consumers.
Reyes Magos, support so that groups in vulnerable situations (women, children, teenagers, LGBTI community, people with some type of disability, foreigners, people belonging to ethnic minorities or indigenous peoples) have the conditions of equality and rights to which they are entitled .
Reyes Magos, we need an effective plan that promotes sustainable practices that allow for a significant performance oriented to preserve environmental care. This requires not only good will, but also resources, responsibility and social commitment.
And I could go on and on because as they say, "asking does not cost anything" but for the moment I stop this exercise with the certainty that "the act of giving is also the first step to receive". Therefore, it will always be a better option to choose not to stay in that comfortable space where one only observes and does not act; where no one is informed and does not commit to anything.
Let us build on reflection, on collective memory and, while we are at it, also on gratitude. Let us follow up on our concerns, but also on the way in which we will be participating in what is happening around us.
So, Saints and Kings, it would be good for us if they were magicians....
