A living wage means 12,400 pesos per month. This, say businessmen and civil society organizations, will allow access to a better life in Mexico.

This week various groups, including Coparmex and Cemefi, met to address the issue of "Living Wage and Corporate Social Responsibility" and proposed increasing the lowest wage within companies to 12,400 pesos per month.

The first step is that by 2026 the minimum wage for medium and large companies should be between 8,550 and 8,600 pesos per month, and then gradually increase to the proposed 12,400 pesos per month.
