On the evening of March 4, 2025, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump gave his first speech before the Congress of the American nation. A long speech, the longest in the history of that country. The state of the nation is a constitutional procedure. They are usually short speeches, of an hour or so, where the actions made by the administration in office throughout a year, headed by the president, are reflected. On this occasion, Trump shared his actions and decisions of only ONE MONTH, (if that is how long it took, what awaits us in the future).
A speech that was designed to garner applause from both his base and the Republicans present on the floor. A speech in which the president said nothing new, nothing, that throughout his campaign he had not said and/or promised. It was clear that his style is the same, harassing allies, pressuring to achieve his goals, blaming the Democrats, specifically President Biden, to whom he constantly blames for the bad state of the country.
From a more strategic point of view, Trump has always known what he wants: protectionism in trade, accompanied by an expansionist neo-imperialism that strengthens the United States internally and externally. Hence his speech ended with popular exclamations such as "the dawn of America's golden age in which the American dream returns stronger than ever" A dream, which is intended primarily for white Americans. Rebuilding the American dream with, for example, the end of the woke culture, the relocation of traditional companies with very American brands, such as automakers, or the imposition of the English language as the official language. Strengthening the white and Anglo-Saxon identity is one of its main objectives.
For Trump, boldness is what motivates change and in that sense he has combined the signing of executive orders, more than 400 and 100 decrees, with bombastic statements, such as the threat of tariffs or that Canada would have to be the 51st state of the United States, (he has even called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau governor).
