In times of digitization and accelerated globalization, Mexico seems to be finally realizing the relevance of blockchain technology, a tool with undeniable transformative potential. This is evidenced by the new National Code of Civil and Family Proceedings, which recognizes blockchain technology as full proof. We cannot help but wonder: Are we facing a revolution that threatens the future of notaries and public brokers?
For the uninitiated, blockchain is a kind of digital ledger, encrypted and decentralized, where each transaction is recorded in a secure and transparent manner. The possibilities of its application are vast and, in our particular case, could translate into a profound restructuring of the Mexican legal system.
