Gender parity, what a laugh they give me!

Ladies, they are not doing you any favors. Women, pay attention, you are not being elected for being competent, you are being elected just for being women, don't you want that? Or do you? Women, don't you get tired of reading each other and talking about the same thing? Don't you get tired of being given opportunities just because you are women? Don't you think we are being discriminated against because we are men? Ha! No.

I have been reading for weeks now idiotic arguments against measures to guarantee gender parity. I do not blame them, I understand that they even think as an innovative idea the fact that an affirmative action (such as forcing parties to nominate five women for the nine candidacies) seems at bottom discriminatory, but I am sorry to tell them, their idea is not only not innovative, it is simplistic, because it does not address the heart of the matter.
