Once the electoral year is over, Morena is preparing to continue expanding its national presence, which will allow it to have eyes in every locality, or if necessary, in every polling place installed in the country. The truth is that I do not know if it is due to the times of new resolutions for the end of one year and the beginning of another, but in the construction or strengthening of these networks, the party's structure will not be used, but rather that of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), taking advantage of the fact that its head and former leader of Morena knows how to do it.
In recent days, the Secretariat announced the deployment of a group called "Education Servers" to work on the National Peace Building Strategy that was developed in the State of Mexico. The idea is not new; it was used in Mexico City in what was called Bienestar Educativo.
The purpose of the "Servidores de la Ciudad Educación" program was to provide attention to the educational community, covering the right to education, culture, equality and non-discrimination, with the idea of addressing the effects of educational backwardness and school dropout after the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2023, Mexico City had between 1,500 and 1,916 type A and type B employees, to whom 171.96 million pesos in salaries were allocated. The 140 of type A had a monthly salary of nine thousand pesos on average and the rest of 7,550 pesos.
This amount is higher than the average salary of five thousand pesos received by the "facilitators" who bring education to the poorest in the country.
The servers were in charge of "planning, organizing and carrying out social actions of participation in the schools: such as holding assemblies, detecting needs for minor maintenance or equipment in the schools, and the same, delivering electronic vouchers."
That is, to consolidate a team of education officials to operate the Mexico City Educational Welfare Trust Fund and disseminate programs such as Mejor Escuela, Uniformes Escolares, Útiles Escolares, Mi beca para empezar and Va Segur@.
In total, eight activities were listed, ranging from visiting public schools in Mexico City, disseminating the Trust, delivering economic support, checks or electronic vouchers, as well as integrating files of beneficiaries of social programs, carrying out social activities and even supporting actions that the government could determine within the framework of the Covid-19 Contingency.
Of course, under this broad umbrella, the actions that can be determined at the federal level with this group in parallel to the Servidores de la Nación, which last year totaled more than 20 thousand members throughout the country, can address actions such as generating a culture of peace in the face of the advance of organized crime, entrusting them with actions to generate a healthy lifestyle in the face of the increase in cases of obesity, or the same, monitoring any electoral process, including the election of ministers, magistrates and judges.
In the end, in the transformation of the country, as in love, anything goes, and why not use education?
One of the first interventions of this group of public servants, reported by SEP, took place in the State of Mexico, in the municipality of Chimalhuacán, just a few days after the federal government dismantled a criminal group linked to public officials in the state.
The intervention of the employees in this locality was to promote scholarships at the three levels: basic, high school and higher education, in addition to actions for the community and adult education sectors.
If we look at the perspective, the Federal government has in essence the Servidores de la Nación, the Bienestar verifiers, the medical personnel who will be going house to house and now the education servants touring the communities, gathering information about the population.
In fact, they themselves are already an available force for the purposes of the second phase of the Transformation because they must submit an official ID, their CURP, provide personal data such as proof of address, a photograph and a resume, as well as sign a letter of commitment to be available for work, including weekends and holidays, among others.
Whether the purposes are aimed at building peace, preventing crime, taking a census of the population to enlist or update the lists of beneficiaries, and providing health care, it cannot be ignored that there is a purpose of electoral control in the communities, in order to prolong the movement that has been in existence for 13 years.
The saying goes that "information is power", but if each agency or program is going to enable its employees to census the population, what we will have is a fight for credentials, I mean, for the beneficiaries that we still do not know where they will go and when, but in fact, time will tell.
