There are times when I think we have not advanced at all as a species and there are others when I think we have come a long way. There is so far to go and I can't help but look back in the rearview mirror and give thanks for the women who have gone before us. To some I would like to say not only "thank you" but also that their sacrifice has been worth it. That it is paying off.

A few days ago, the premiere of the film "Te llamás María" at the film festivals caught my attention. In the nebula of my mind, something stirred. I was only a few years old and had no use of reason when the events took place, but I have a record that at home they talked about a sinful, filthy, indecent movie, secretly and only among adults. When I came of age I tried to watch it, but it was never shown at the cinema. When the video rental clubs arrived, I had forgotten the title.

Women at the forefront of the debate, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable dialogue. Here, diversity of thought and equitable representation across sectors are not mere ideals; they are the heart of our community.
