There were the columnists
Preparing your pasterns
When the skinny girl with a mantilla arrived
Searching for journalists
Some with microphone in hand
Others with pens and keyboards
Denouncing machismo and patriarchy
Searching until you find the human
A loud, clear voice called out to them
But they did not listen to the skinny girl
Preparing proposals and meetings with basil
So without hearing her, they silenced her
They looked at her with envy.
For slim, elegant and super fit
with mat, leggings and all the kit
but there was something in his hyena smile
We want respect and recognition
He was told out of the blue
No criticism or indoctrination
Go die in your pantheon
We don't want your opinion!
