Living a lie builds the fragile and ephemeral illusion of having managed to avoid dealing with the truth. The same illusion when a baby covers its head and lives the experience of seeing the world disappear for its eyes, and in turn, disappear for the world. An illusion of success and power: I disappear (from the truth) and make it disappear from my surroundings (the truth). It is only considered a tender and entertaining game if we are with a 1 or 2 year old baby. To continue to believe that a blankie (the lie) disappears my link to reality (the truth), is perverse.
Emotional abuse has three main characteristics: lying, manipulation and betrayal. Abuse can occur in any type of relationship; it is not exclusive to a couple's relationship, or even to a personal relationship between two individuals. Emotional abuse also occurs between government and state, between public servants and citizens; and the most difficult to identify, between me and myself. What do I lie about? How do I manipulate myself? When do I betray myself?
Manipulation is a word that has as synonyms adulterate, rig, falsify, trick and vitiate. It is defined as the cunning, crafty and skillful intervention in politics, market and/or information, among others, that distorts the truth or justice; putting particular interests above these concepts. In the case of the emotional abuse of me for me, the interests that are interposed are of the ego, over the truth or justice for my greater benefit.
The mandate of the people is the trust given by the citizenship to a certain number of people to administer the common goods. It is not a blank letter for them to put their personal interests above ethics, law, equity, justice and truth. A great manipulation of the term. What truth do we not want to deal with? With that of being co-responsible for building the society we currently have and with the foundations we are leaving for a future society. We are more than 120 million Mexicans and yet, we are accepting the vision of a single person, who from the National Palace decides (without listening) how 120 million governed should live distributed in more than 1,973 million km².
Nepotism is a form of favoritism and favoritism is granting special privileges to friends, relatives, colleagues and acquaintances to get jobs. In the case of favoritism, blood relationship is not necessary, in nepotism it is, because it grants jobs through unjustified privileges to relatives of the person in power. It modifies the social balance by assigning unqualified relatives to positions of power exclusively because they have a family tie. Nepotism comes from Italian and means nephew, it is a practice that is neither exclusive of an era, nor of an institution, country or culture. It occurs because human beings abuse power and like to live with privileges (a truth that we do not want to accept). It is valid to have within the family members who share similar tastes, professions or interests. The problem with nepotism is that it ignores the basic principles of justice and equity, creating favors (that later will be charged) for their relatives (with whom they have a relationship of emotional abuse and power). Nepotism never looks at objective capabilities to perform the job, which translates into a decrease in productivity, efficiency and effectiveness, which in the case of government, ends up leaving the population adrift.
The current president (who has one week left in office), has placed his own son in the party that has the majority in the legislative branch, holds the executive branch and seeks to have control of the judiciary. To amass power for their own benefit is their main objective, because none of these characters understand the responsibility of having the mandate of the people. None of them know how to work or deliver results. None of them will be remembered as statesmen, much less humanists. The people's mandate is not synonymous with nepotism or a one-man vision; it is the tremendous responsibility of leading an entire country to a good port. It is precisely the ignorance and incapacity of Morena that reflects the deep nepotism that at all levels and in all states, the movement has built. Those who admire and defend the 2nd floor of the cuatroté, show their ambition to be within that favoritism, besides accepting their lack of capacity, because they know that without favoritism they would never have reached where they are by their own means.
