Looking for how to survive the internship and especially the medical social service, I found among those who had already completed them that the best thing about these years is that they end, and they were right. What is the best thing about AMLO having been president? That his eternal candidacy is over. No respect to Francisco I. Madero with effective suffrage. No reelection; AMLO had two presidencies, the self-proclaimed delirium of 2006, putting on the presidential sash with unofficial symbols, like Napoleon Bonaparte proclaiming himself Emperor of France, and the second one in 2018 when the INE gave him the certificate of elected president, by democratic vote. What is the best thing about AMLO's six-year term? That it is over.
They say, that the road to hell is full of good intentions. They say, that all human beings (yes, all of us) are doing our best and that we are all beings of light. They say, that creation is getting to know itself and that nothing is too much and nothing is too little; that the world is perfect as it is. They say that what shocks you, shocks you. They say that in politics there is also a mysticism; from the Greek μυστικός (mystikós, relating to mysteries). Let's make political mysticism and unravel the mystery of Mexican politics and society.
Is/was/will he be a danger to Mexico? Not really, on the time scale, AMLO's life is insignificant for the territory. He has been called messiah, spiritual leader, the one who comes to change consciences, the one who represents Lord Jaguar, the one who has received the baton of command from the original peoples (the real baton is of unity), the one who has the greatest popular approval, who listens to the dead and who has contact with extraterrestrial beings that help and support him... and so on and so forth. Let's not exaggerate either, let's keep a minimum of seriousness in this analysis. It represents the average Mexican without being extraordinary. It is popular because they find common ground. What shocks you shocks you, but also what shocks you you admire and accept and what shocks you, you defend, even when it embarrasses you and you can't or don't know how to change it.
How many Mexicans are like that? Ill-mannered. Parents incapable of setting limits or making them responsible. A mother who excuses and defends her delinquents since they are little: it is not theft, look how many flowers the garden has, in AMLO's case it was only that he killed his brother, besides, he has good intentions. He went to an educational institution that encourages the lack of discipline and excuses the gaps in knowledge and irresponsibility, because poor things, allowing him to finish in 14 years a bachelor's degree. The PRI is criticized, but it was the PRI that never gave AMLO access to elected positions, because they already knew he was a rotten apple. He threw a tantrum and went to another party. He generates simplistic and delirious solutions to problems he does not understand. He does not know how to say I don't know. Does not accept help. Immature and above all insecure to such a degree that he has a moral superiority complex that he rubs in everyone's face. Does not listen, because his arrogance makes him believe that his vision (authoritarian) is the only one that counts (dictatorship). An egocentric and absent-minded father. Liar, manipulator and narcissist; who with patience and by dint of repeating things over and over again, ended up convincing the population that they were poor, victims of "the Spaniards" and that only he could understand them (false empathy) and that he was the only one who knew Mexico. Vindictive and treacherous. Libidinous and abusive. Misogynist. Bully and corrupt, because he knows perfectly well that he could not get anything without intimidating, offering money or breaking the law. His friends are organized criminals.
Thus the chief executive who today is going to La Chingada, although we do not know when he will arrive at the very austere ranch in Palenque, which is 13,341 square meters in size. Undoubtedly, he made his best effort, promised a lot and did not leave anything owed, because his surrealistic ideas only convinced those who do not know how to reason, nor do they want to really work. He came to destroy and he did it with flying colors. He showed that mediocrity is very expensive and that division is still a path to victory. As a good narcissist, he made Mexico lose friends and allies.
The good thing: his six-year term is over; the bad thing: we are left with a society that looks too much like him, and with that yoke we have to plow, they say.
