In the car, returning from gymnastics, from the back seat Mara asks me:
-Mom, then who is going to win, Xochitl or Claudia?
I explain to her that they are still competing and that it is up to all the Mexican people to go and vote and thus decide who will be the next president. My answer does not satisfy her and she continues:
-But who is better? Shouldn't the best one win?
I try to explain to him that this is not like a 100-meter race or like the spelling bee at his school in which those who have already proven to be the best triumph; that in politics the winner does not win for having governed better, but that we must candidly vote for whoever we think will be the best after winning. That is to say, that we must trust their promises and their word.
