Good morning!
By Mariana Conde
I finished my audiobook in turn and, looking for the next one, I decided on The Old Man and the Sea; I had read it too long ago and it was also on sale.
Since I discovered a renewed taste for listening to books, I go to the gym with more enthusiasm and no line or car ride is too long for me.
This morning, along with my sneakers, I put on my headphones and headed to the weights area, ready for my dose of exercise with a literary soundtrack. I was immediately caught by the husky and wise voice of Donald Sutherland and the beauty of Hemingway's words. Don't ask me if I did more reps on the left leg than the right or if I completed the arm circuit, I was completely lost in the narrative. My routine took longer than usual, not because of a sudden determination to strengthen the body but because of the hypnosis the story plunged me into. Several times I had to stop what I was doing to rewind the recording and listen again with more attention to some phrase, some image.
