Once upon a time there was a bay that was said to be the most beautiful in the world. Politicians and celebrities boasted of owning a property in this paradisiacal port with an incredible view of the Golden Pacific. The houses of Cantinflas, Placido Domingo or Luis Miguel were even part of Acapulco's attractions for tourists.

That port imagined and developed by Miguel Alemán during his six-year term of office, with its homonymous coastline and bay, became one of the most widespread imaginaries of the country and also the object of desire of many who built fabulous mansions there. It was there, it is said, that the president used to go for a ride on his boat with María Félix to whom, by the way, Agustín Lara would dedicate his famous song María Bonita, which begins with the well-known refrain of Acuérdate de Acapulco...
