Breathe

Queen Sofia of Spain did not like hunting, so her husband went to the estate "La Encomienda de Mudela" and was having a great time with laughter, wine, rifles and women. It was 1975, like those soap opera scenes we have seen, "Juanito" was "hunted" by the queen with his prey in his arms and smelling of sex, they were seconds of holding each other's gaze, disappointment and hatred combined in a sour cocktail, Sofia of Greece and Denmark left the farm crying, it was the first of many.
When she arrived at the Zarzuela Palace, she packed her bags, kept the infidelity in her chest where you feel the tears flowing like a waterfall inside you when you suffer, prepared her three children: Elena, Cristina and little Felipe, and took a plane to India. When she met her mother, the Greek queen Federica, she was determined not to return and divorce but instead of support, she ordered her to return to Madrid, put the monarchy as a priority before her feelings as a deceived woman and reminded her that she was raising the future king of Spain. Sofia returned home with her children, but from that moment on she did not share the bed with the king again, which in the end for "Juanito" - as she called him - was even a reward, to have more freedom and the womanizing monarch took advantage of it, in his case there was no mourning.
How many women in the world, each one in "her own kingdom", have had to do the same, bow their heads, not make a sound, not defend themselves, while the husband shatters "the castle" they built together? The pain suffered by a woman who has been cheated on is an attack on her self-esteem and, what's more, the self-claim of not feeling enough. When they see their reflection in the mirror, they throw those looks loaded with courage of feeling the stupidest in the world, and repeat like a mantra "How could I be so blind? " Sofia with all that royal lineage of being the daughter of King Paul of Greece, queen emeritus, mother of the king of Spain has done it for decades and in her public acts maintains an iron temper, smiles, shakes hands, gives speeches .
For the grandmother of Leonor and Sofia that became her only option in life, to pretend. "That nothing is happening" while every woman who got into the King's bed has been a wound not only in the heart but in the soul of the queen.
In recent days in the conversation and in the media in Mexico have been again cases of abuse in all senses against women, because humiliation and violence are linked, they do not respect neither colors nor status, they grab even and even queens as in the case of Sofia of Spain, who is one more of that list.
