Hero, villain, one of the top scorers of the National Team, actor, politician, tepiteño. Once again, Cuauhtémoc Blanco is embroiled in controversy. At just over 50 years old, he is a transcendental figure in the popular imagination. Undoubtedly, a character that helps us to see -although not to understand- the vision of many men about sports, the public sphere, women and the power of social networks. Like América, he divides opinions: in his own party, women legislators have closed ranks to not allow the easy way out. Their request was clear: that, like the rest of the Mexicans, he should prove his innocence -if he is innocent- without taking advantage of the immunity.

I dragged him like what he is, a cat; I left him like a dog", "you'd better start washing dishes", "I just want them to tell him that I'm the best player in Mexico, it's as simple as that". I don't like to talk, I only like to humiliate them on the field" are "immortalized" phrases from his time as a soccer player. Were they already unmistakable traits of his temperament? A normalization of the language of a violent character?

"I am such good people and I take pictures with everyone", "I come from the bottom", "everything I have I have earned with effort" are his statements in response to allegations of mismanagement, irregularities, closeness with criminals. Unfortunately, these are commonplaces of a large part of the political class in our country. Except when the narrative changes in the face of information about an attempted rape of his sister and, later, a video of injuries to his wife. The networks have turned him into a "trending topic": it is one thing to show off as a "neighborhood boy" or to jump between three political parties, and a very different thing to be an aggressor.

In Mexico, the term "Lord" is used in social networks to indicate people who exhibit arrogant, arrogant, inappropriate behavior. They are the ones who star in public situations that are considered reprehensible. Could we catalog assertions such as "here's daddy" as one of them? Will any other phrase be enough for collectives, opposition, fans, women, to forget the denunciation of a person assaulted in his own home?

As if it were a "temoseñal" or a "cuauhtemiña", the former player tried to divert attention and take advantage of another scandal. An Uber driver was falsely accused of harassment by a female passenger (Lady Uber). Faced with this, he saw fit to mention that he would present an initiative to "protect men from defamations" because "I have to defend myself" in the face of "false accusations" and "a dirty war". How is it possible to equate her accusation against a totally different situation?

Cuauhtémoc Blanco's "speech" is unmissable: he is trying to change the narrative and gain the empathy of certain sectors. Unfortunately, he has achieved the support of those in his bench who say "not to exonerate him", but "to dismiss the grounds for his desafuero". With this, the federal deputy -who reached the seat through a plurinominal list- will not follow a judicial process but the networks may seek justice against "the folderzo" and once again the pretext of "that the folder was poorly assembled".

Shouldn't such a delicate accusation be followed up? If he is innocent, wouldn't it be preferable to prove it before the authorities and the citizens themselves? Is a flaw in the process enough to eliminate the seriousness of a sexual accusation of a man with all the political power behind him?
