Weeks of contrasts! On the one hand, we devolved by eliminating daylight saving time and calling what we lived on for decades "God's time". God's time? How embarrassing to imagine the reaction of any citizen of a high-income country.
In this country of contrasts where women are discarded as in the Precambrian, who knows God's designs? Whose God? A feminicidal and misogynist God? And no, I am not a supporter of daylight saving time, it does not bother me either. This country simply needs other reforms as a matter of urgency before thinking about what time the rooster will crow.
STANDING OVATIONS
In this same country, where God gives the time zones, finally, equal marriage was approved at the national level. We can only applaud the decision and be thankful that we are a vanguard country where all rights are for everyone. Where sexual inclusion is respected.
Guerrero and Tamaulipas gave a clear demonstration of civility and although there are some states that still need to "polish" their legislation, such as Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Chiapas or Nuevolandia, all unions are already allowed by court order or decree.
These reforms were unthinkable in other six-year governments dominated by the PRI and PAN. Let's not forget that Peña Nieto sent the proposal to Congress to legislate in favor of diverse people regarding marriage, but the initiative could not even become popular when it was discarded.
How can we forget the governor of the State of Mexico when he said he was against egalitarian marriage because it is against the family. Curious that one of its municipal presidents, that of Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl is openly gay with a homoparental marriage and father of a family.
The moment in which equal marriage is approved is crucial at a global level, while the United States is going backwards in terms of human rights and access to reproductive health, or the resurgence of Mussolini-like nationalism in Italy, in Mexico we are taking a step forward and we have to celebrate it in a big way.
Despite this bleak outlook in Europe, Rishi Sunak, of Indian descent, becomes the youngest Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, but also the first non-white. Undoubtedly a breakthrough for equality in the nation that is suffering from the onslaught of the EU exit and the chaos generated by the death of its queen.
All in all, a rather hectic last quarter of the year.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Quintana Roo deserves special praise for decriminalizing abortion up to twelve weeks of gestation.
Only Sinaloa, Guerrero, Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo joined the green tide in 2022.
There is still a long way to go, in the meantime, the fight goes on!
POST DATA
I see them very concerned about what is happening in Iran, but I do not see the same hands urging to sabotage the World Cup in Qatar because of the lack of equality and equity. On the contrary, they are ecstatic and expectant of an event granted by corruption to a country that violates elementary human rights. Contrasts!
