In Mexico City, the use of motorcycles is on the rise; apparently this growth in the number of these vehicles responds to the high demand for home deliveries, or perhaps as a solution to the chaotic traffic in the city. According to data from Mexico City's Secretariat of Mobility , the number of motorcycles circulating in Mexico City increased from 59,000 in 2012 to 528,000 by 2022. Less than a month ago , some modifications went into effect in order to reduce road accidents - road deaths have been on the rise - and as a measure to address the complexity of mobility, where roads are now shared among different means of transportation - as if everyone could play by the same rules.

Among the modifications, it is noteworthy that there is none related to the noise they emit, considering that motor vehicles are one of the causes of noise pollution in cities and that motorcycles are the ones that most often exceed the permitted levels. It should be remembered that noise is the second most common environmental pollutant in cities and that it has a direct and almost always irreversible impact on people's health.
