The first debate between the candidates for the Mexico City Chief of Government was a good one. Besides being formative and informative, it was entertaining because of the questioning and sarcastic attacks between the leading candidates and the strategy of the third in the polls, Salomón Chertorivski. The Movimiento Ciudadano candidate, known as a technical and well-trained public servant, chose to be funny by pulling out a pack of popcorn to show that he had nothing left to do but watch the attacks between his adversaries.
This effort to add a touch of humor surprised many. I did not like it because it was repetitive, because he is not exactly funny, and it seemed to me that he was opting for self-exclusion.
