The hijacking of the Galaxy Leader cargo ship in international waters of the Red Sea is proof that the war between Israel and Hamas is spreading like wildfire with 13,300 dead in Gaza, and that this affects even Mexicans.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) informed on Monday that two Mexicans were among the 25 people kidnapped from the ship by members of the Yemeni Houthis, a militia armed by Iran that is outraged by the situation in Gaza and has vowed not to stop until there is a definitive ceasefire.
This is serious for several reasons, first because it adds another open front to the conflict, then because it opens the door to the involvement of third parties and finally because the area where the kidnapping took place speaks volumes.
