It was in May 2023 that Rodrigo Cordera asked me about the Federal Labor Law (LFT) and what it said regarding the workers' right to sit. In its article 132 fraction V, it tells us that, in each and every place where employment is offered, there must be sufficient seating for workers and that was the information I provided him. That same weekend, while doing my weekly shopping, it occurred to me to ask the cashier who served me at the blue supermarket if she was allowed to rest, the answer was: "They don't let us sit down, with jobs they give us mats, we only sit down at lunchtime. In 13 years I got a small bone and I'm about to operate it, during the day I don't mind but when it's time to rest I can't sleep because of the pain in my feet" (video attached) and I decided to send the video to Rodrigo.

As a result of this information, Rodrigo and Senator Patricia Mercado decided to launch the "Chair Law" initiative, a reform that obliges employers to allow workers to sit down for periods of time.
