Life has unexpected twists and turns and sometimes chance brings us news we never imagined we would receive. For me it was a diagnosis of breast cancer. When I heard the word "cancer" fear invaded my whole body and I knew that this news would change my life. But as in every story, after the storm comes the calm and with it the opportunity to discover the power of early detection and how a gesture of solidarity can make a difference. Today I want to inspire other women not to fear and to trust the ADO Pink Caravan because there is so much to live for and early detection is the first step.
This initiative not only gave me the opportunity to have a free mastography, but also showed me the value of acting in time. Sitting on an ADO bus, I never imagined that this study, carried out by a happy coincidence, would be the beginning of a new stage. They found something in my breast that, if not detected in time, could have changed the course of my story.
Many of us find it hard to stop and think about our health. There is always something more urgent: the house, the children, the responsibilities. But I learned that taking a few minutes for a mastography can make a difference. This experience gave me back hope for a future I thought was lost. Now I want to share my testimony so that more women can receive this gift of life.
I was there when ADO announced that this year it would increase the number of States benefiting from free mastographies to 13. I thought: "What good news for everyone! This way more women will be able to have their test without worrying about money" and it will allow them to feel at ease knowing that they did something for themselves.
Early detection is one of our best allies. Thanks to Caravana Rosa, FUCAM and those who make this effort possible, I have seen how hope is reborn when we least expect it. Knowing that through this program 21 cases of breast cancer have been detected and that many women have had access to studies that otherwise they could not have had fills me with gratitude.
With this testimony I want to share my love for life and I hope to inspire more women to take courage, to remember how much they mean to their loved ones and to get a mastography. Sometimes we just need a little push to remember that our health is the most valuable thing.
The time we spend taking care of ourselves is time invested in a future full of hope. Don't forget that every morning is a new opportunity to smile at life, embrace those we love and discover that even in the most difficult moments hope can find its way.
Today I want to be that reminder to you. It's not a coincidence that you are reading this. Take a few minutes, come to Caravana Rosa. Because it may be the opportunity you've been waiting for. You are not alone and there is a community that supports you, cares for you and invites you to remember that in every review we take courage because there is so much to live for.
A mastography can be the difference between an early diagnosis and the opportunity to continue enjoying life.
