"We are in favor of peace, we do not consider that violence should be used. We do not want war, we do not want confrontation. We are very sorry for what is happening because of this confrontation between Palestinians and Israelis.
"When such unfortunate conflicts are faced, it is a very serious situation, and rather than condemnation, what is required is a search for peaceful solutions, dialogue and avoiding the escalation of confrontation and violence.
This is how Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador answered when he was asked on the morning news (09/10/23) about his position regarding the terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas against the Israeli civilian population and the kidnapping of more than a hundred hostages who were taken to Gaza, among them two Mexicans.
