The media are also racist and discriminate. They cover every step taken by U.S. President Donald Trump, they write about the billionaire politician's nonsense, whether the tariffs against Mexico, the tariffs against the world, his 25% increase in the cost of aluminum and steel, whether he wants to empty the Gaza Strip to build a Sea-A-Lake type resort, his calls with Vladimir Putin and his every witticism. They also cover to exhaustion the activities of President Claudia Sheinbaum, her defense of immigrants, her famous phrase "sovereignty yes, subjugation no". In addition, her trips around the country, her meetings, in short, document her every step. Trump and migrants are the hot topic internationally, followed by Gaza and Ukraine, but little is said about what is happening in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and in general in Latin America and at the national level what sells is the narco, the president (a bit by force), assassinations of politicians, violence and, of course, the lack of security. Life in Mexico is becoming the red note.

Little is said about the missing people whose number continues to increase during Sheinbaum's government, the media is already lazy to quantify the dead, it is already a known story, the press is not outraged with each murdered journalist, nor with the figures of kidnappings, extortions, armed robberies and serious human rights violations such as the widespread use of torture in prisons, extrajudicial killings and much less is there a scandal about the deaths of children with cancer that continue to occur. Every four hours a child from 5 to 14 years old dies in the country with cancer, in 2020 there were 1,600 deaths from this cruel disease that continues to occur and claiming lives for lack of treatment and medicines, something that in another country like Sweden or Denmark so loved by Lopez Obrador does not happen and if it were to happen it would be a real scandal!

The WHO has just reported that in the last count they have been pleased to see that globally the number of deaths of children with cancer has decreased thanks to the effectiveness of new treatments. Except in Mexico, where children continue to die with this disease, children whose deaths have been avoidable, useless deaths, bereaved parents and all because the budget for childhood cancer was reduced. I reiterate: in Mexico a child dies every 4 hours with cancer. Their treatment and medicines are lacking. It is cruel and inhumane that they die from a curable cancer and in the end no one is responsible for this tragedy.

And at the international level, the world for the national media is very small. It remains to be seen how much space the newspapers give to what happens beyond their noses. Newspapers such as Reforma devote a page, that's right, a page to the international section. The same on radio and television. If the majority of Mexicans depend on what the national media informs them, they must think they live in a happy world with evildoers like Trump and Netanyahu. If anything they give coverage to the occasional event in Latin America such as the follies of Milei in Argentina, the abuses of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela or the serious violations of human rights in Nicaragua with the diabolical couple of the Ortega Murillo family.
