The results of PISA 2022the OECD's most relevant international standardized assessment to measure the skills of 15-year-old students in reading comprehension, mathematics and science. Unfortunately, it paints a worrying picture for the Mexican education system that has real and serious implications for students.

This year's measurement allows us to capture the impact of the pandemic on education in 81 countries. As other more limited studies had already warned, at a global level there was a setback in the three areas evaluated, including Mexico. However, there were countries such as Japan, Singapore, Korea and Lithuania that managed to maintain or improve their performance trends despite the health emergency.
