This week, world leaders are in New York City discussing, among other things, how we are doing in the search for more sustainable development. That is, how much progress has been made in consolidating more conscious economic growth, in which environmental impact is limited and no population is left out of the benefits.

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that we are on the wrong track. Halfway through the period defined for meeting the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), only 15% of them are on track to be achieved by 2030. This is alarming and at the same time a strong call for countries to stop pretending to be committed and implement effective actions, with allocated funding, to make more accelerated progress on these commitments.

Women at the forefront of the debate, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable dialogue. Here, diversity of thought and equitable representation across sectors are not mere ideals; they are the heart of our community.
