We are in the midst of a long electoral process that will culminate in June 2024. As this race takes shape , I observe that political cynicism is growing in a shameless way. There are more and more people involved who -without any remorse- are capable of betraying their convictions and their values in order to be in the places where it is convenient for them to be at this moment. Unfortunately, these inconsistencies deteriorate trust in the political class and erode what is left of democracy in this country.

Samuel García swore he would not be like "El Bronco", but he did not keep his promise. Two years after heading the state government of Nuevo Leon, he decided to leave office to seek the presidency with Movimiento Ciudadano and on Sunday he started his pre-campaign in Monterrey. Not only did he betray the promise he made to the people of his state, but he has also generated internal political instability, because he wants to choose his replacement and go over the local Constitution, an "authoritarian bravado" as described by Carlos Bravo Regidor.
