A few days ago, Morena's internal process to elect the five women and four men who will seek the governorship in 2024 concluded. The bad thing is that the process was arbitrary, where the results of the polls were ignored, hiding behind the fulfillment of the parity criteria defined by the National Electoral Institute (INE). 

This revived a polarized debate around gender quotas, to the extent of calling them "gender charity". While such affirmative affirmative actions are unpopularWhile such affirmative actions are unpopular, it must also be recognized that they have been effective in increasing the representation of women in the public sector. Nevertheless, they are temporary measures, since they are not enough to consolidate a more egalitarian Mexico and that is where efforts should be concentrated.

Women at the forefront of the debate, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable dialogue. Here, diversity of thought and equitable representation across sectors are not mere ideals; they are the heart of our community.
