In this society in which sex is present in all media, it is not easy to face sexual abstinence, who decides to do it for various circumstances such as: medical instruction, for fear of falling in love and being hurt, looking for the spiritual side of their life, or simply giving up sex, all of them feel isolated or weirdos before the bombardment of images, publications and movies that allude to the enjoyment of a sexual life.
Just as those who stop eating and put their lives at risk, there are also people who become obsessed with sex and go to the extreme of completely withdrawing from sexual practice in their lives, it is not easy to identify those who suffer from this disorder or "addiction". One of the first manifestations is the lack of libido or "sexual appetite", accompanied by an excessive preoccupation for not having sex, or they reject any possibility or sexual expression and start a scale of self-destruction and alterations in the body image.
One of the most constant questions in my lectures is: can you live without sex? If you can, it is possible, but it is unlikely that you will succeed, it is not recommended, nor desirable, because you lose a fundamental part of life, sexuality allows you to connect not only with yourself, but also with another partner.
