Christmas is the season of hugs, laughter and photos that will stay forever in the family album. But, let's be honest: we all want to look pretty in those photos. It's not to meet the expectations of others or to get closer to the unattainable standards of beauty that flood social media; it's a matter of personal satisfaction. We want to look at ourselves in the pictures and feel good about what we see, especially in an age full of unique moments.

This season has something special: family reunions, spending time with friends you haven't seen in a while and, of course, the typical cousin or aunt who takes the opportunity to make a "subtle" comment about how you have changed: "I see you fuller of happiness this year". We don't want to be defined by those comments, but we also can't deny that, deep down, we'd like to avoid them.

So even though it may seem late, it's never too late to start. A daily exercise routine of 20 or 30 minutes can make all the difference. We're not talking about radically transforming our bodies or becoming obsessed with burning calories before Christmas dinner. Rather, we're talking about adopting a habit that not only helps us look better, but also makes us feel stronger and more confident.

The magic of starting today

Exercise is not just a means to improve our appearance; it's a way to connect with ourselves, release tension and feel more present. Christmas brings with it all kinds of emotions, from joy and nostalgia to the stress of preparations, and a short daily session can be our time to recharge and focus on what really matters.

Imagine this: photos that you would not only upload to your social networks with pride, but even print out to decorate the ornaments on your Christmas tree. That level of confidence doesn't just come from the physique, but from knowing that you've taken the time to take care of yourself. Because at the end of the day, what really matters is how you feel about yourself.

If you decide to start moving, do it safely. You don't need a gym full of machines, but you do need tools to support you. A quality mat, for example, is essential to avoid injury and provide stability while you exercise. Look for one that is non-slip and thick enough to protect your joints. With it you can practice yoga, Pilates or functional exercises in the comfort of your home, without worrying about slipping or knee discomfort.

The best gift for yourself

Christmas is also a time for gifts, so why not give yourself the best gift you can receive? Starting a routine is not just a commitment to your body; it's an investment in your physical and emotional well-being. It doesn't matter if your goals are big or small, if you're looking to tone up, release stress or simply clear your mind. The important thing is that you find that motivation that moves you every day, even when the agenda is full of posadas and dinners.

As the saying goes, "The best time to start was yesterday; the second best time is today." It doesn't matter if the year is about to end; there is always time to take care of yourself. May this Christmas not only be a time to give to others, but also to give yourself the gift of feeling good in your skin, not because of photos or comments, but because YOU DESERVE IT.

So dust off your sneakers, find a good mat and dedicate a few minutes a day to move. Do it for you, for your moments in front of the mirror and, of course, for those photos that you will remember with a smile, at Christmas and always.
