If it's a matter of confession, I was a little nervous, the idea of interviewing what for many is the most important Latin artist of all time is a little intimidating, especially when one of the people who thinks so, is me.
We have been looking for Shakira's team practically since we heard about her tour, it was one of those chips that one should not stop playing, but that with difficulty turn out to be winners. Weeks, months went by, the concerts in Latin America, the ones in Guadalajara, the ones in Monterrey, three in Mexico City and there was no response. On Tuesday morning, on what was to be the fourth concert, it arrived.
The appointment came with an invitation included, to see the concert, and after it, twenty minutes of interview. It was an exclusive.
The rest of that day went by between preparations, everything was going well, until the clouds started to scare us all. The clouds turned into a storm, and the storm turned into panic that everything would be suspended.
Shakira was also afraid of that happening, she told me as soon as we greeted each other; the possible presence of lightning would have forced her to cancel it. But it didn't happen, the rain intensity dropped, and after ten o'clock at night she drove the 75 thousand people who were soaking wet waiting for her crazy. On stage, meanwhile, she suffered with her new rain shoes, which did not work as well as expected and made her slip - very discreetly - on several occasions while she delighted the audience with her spectacular dances; she also told me this while the microphones were being set up for us.
