Since 2009, the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation has designated May 30 as World Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Day, which in Mexico has a prevalence of between 15 and 17 patients per 100,000 inhabitants and affects more women in a ratio of almost 3 to 1. It is usually diagnosed between 20 and 40 years of age, but can appear at any age. Children and teenagers represent 5% of the total number of patients, while those over 65 are estimated at 10%.

This year, the worldwide campaign is about the diagnosis of the disease and uses the slogan "Navigating Multiple Sclerosis Together". An autoimmune disorder that is considered chronic and, once acquired, does not go away, but is controlled...

Sufferers are immersed in a journey, at the beginning, with no certain direction that takes them through a turbulent river that throws them into the middle of an open sea, deeply untamed, without oars or anchors, without life jackets.

Women at the forefront of the debate, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable dialogue. Here, diversity of thought and equitable representation across sectors are not mere ideals; they are the heart of our community.
