Fifteen days have passed since the June 2 elections, in which the allied opposition parties were severely defeated, and neither Marko Cortés, of the National Action Party, nor Alejandro Moreno, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, have resigned from the leadership of the political institutions they have led to the electoral canvas.

What has transcended are the political excesses, the little electoral contribution and the safeguarding of their personal interests, actions with which they went through the 2024 campaign and which undeniably contributed to the resounding defeat.

Out of nine governorships in the process of renewal, the PAN only retained one, while the PRI did not win a single one. Even Movimiento Ciudadano (Citizen's Movement) beat them by retaining the Government of Jalisco, and the rest was left in the hands of Morena.

In fact, the PRI lost, in relation to 2018, more than 2 million votes, while the PAN barely added a pyrrhic amount, and the PRD, well... It came to its end. The citizenship has shaved it from the political parties in Mexico and its official liquidation has started from the very few votes it received in the federal legislative election.
